Electric Heaters for Agriculture

Heating elements for grain drying, greenhouse climate control, poultry brooding, livestock comfort and agricultural processing equipment.

Grain Drying and Crop Processing

Electric heating elements generate the warm air used in grain dryers, seed dryers and crop processing equipment. Tubular heating elements and finned tubular elements are common in forced-air drying systems, where they heat incoming air before it passes through the drying chamber. Replacement elements for existing dryers are a frequent requirement, particularly ahead of and during harvest seasons.

When specifying heating elements for drying equipment, the key factors are the airflow rate, the desired air temperature rise, the voltage and the physical dimensions of the heating chamber. If you are replacing an existing element, share the current specifications or measurements.

Greenhouse Heating

Greenhouses in cooler regions or at higher altitudes may use electric heaters to maintain minimum temperatures during cold periods. Tubular heaters, finned heaters and infrared heaters can serve greenhouse applications depending on the size of the structure, the crop requirements and the available electrical supply.

Infrared heaters provide radiant warmth directly to plants and growing surfaces without heating the entire air volume. Tubular and finned heaters warm air in recirculating ventilation systems. The choice depends on the greenhouse design, the crop sensitivity to temperature fluctuations and the energy budget.

Poultry and Livestock

Infrared heaters provide focused warmth for poultry brooders, helping maintain the temperature needed for chick development during the early weeks. Ceramic infrared heaters and quartz infrared heaters both serve this application. The heater type, mounting height and wattage depend on the brooder size, the number of chicks and the ambient temperature.

For livestock housing, electric heaters can provide supplemental warmth in confined areas. Immersion heaters keep drinking water from freezing in cold-weather installations.

Agricultural Water Heating

Immersion heaters heat water for agricultural uses including dairy cleaning systems, livestock watering, crop washing and food processing at the farm level. The sheath material and watt density depend on the water quality (hardness, mineral content) and whether detergents or sanitisers are added.

Equipment-Level Replacement

Agricultural processing equipment (such as dryers, grading machines, cleaning systems and packaging lines) uses standard industrial heating components. Replacement elements, cartridge heaters and thermocouples for this equipment can be matched from our catalogue based on the existing specifications.

What to Include in Your Enquiry

When requesting a quotation, include as much of the following as possible:

  • Application (grain dryer, greenhouse, brooder, water heating, processing)
  • Equipment make and model if replacing an existing heater
  • Heater type needed or open to recommendation
  • Dimensions, wattage and voltage
  • Operating temperature range
  • Indoor/outdoor environment
  • Quantity and any seasonal ordering considerations
  • Existing part specifications or photos

Industry Questions

Can you supply replacement heating elements for my existing grain dryer?
Yes. Share the dryer make and model, the current element dimensions, wattage and voltage, and we will match a replacement. If you do not have the specifications, share a photo and physical measurements and we can work from those.
Which infrared heater is best for a poultry brooder?
Both ceramic and quartz infrared heaters are used for poultry brooding. Ceramic infrared heaters have a longer life and produce gentle, consistent radiant heat. Quartz infrared heaters provide faster warm-up. The choice depends on the brooder size, mounting height, ambient temperature and your preference. Share these details and we will recommend a suitable option.
Are your heaters suitable for outdoor agricultural installations?
Some products are suitable for outdoor use (such as infrared heaters for covered brooding areas and heat tracing for outdoor water pipes). Others are designed for indoor or enclosed equipment. Describe your installation environment, including exposure to moisture, dust and temperature extremes, and we will advise on the appropriate product and any protection requirements. ---
